Fusing Frames: My Nottingham
TASK: Our identity… Document the area around The New Art Exchange. Take as many photographs as you like that describe this area. Use landmarks, locations and the signs of the city to express the identity of these places.
We undertook a research trip from a planned route through the city to take photographs of the spaces and objects that represent our view of Nottingham. The young people were guided and accompanied by professional artists as we investigated the signs of their city and thus documented their urban life. We wanted to create a map of Nottingham that documents all the signs, logos, symbols and landmarks. Equipped with a GPS, all the images are tagged with location coordinates tht will make up an online interactive map of Nottingham. The idea is to explore the map, track our journeys through the city and discover similarities and differences between the various districts in Nottingham.
